A kitchen for living, featuring minimalism and colour contrasts
Light is always a welcome guest, the most eagerly awaited, the one who knows how to create the right ambiance. Through the large windows, covered by light curtains, the sun illuminates this neutral-coloured interior, hits the parquet floor and its grain, and draws small bright windows on the walls and kitchen. The minimalist approach can be discerned in the choice of creating an environment by subtraction, simplifying furniture, shades and decor. We owe the chairs to the genius of Jean Prouvé for Vitra, the light and functional table is Hay’s Pyramid Table, while the iconic silhouette of Louis Poulsen’s lamp discreetly towers above.
The result is an airy kitchen with pure lines, in which the central role of the range cooker from ILVE’s Nostalgie series, in the Graphite Mat variant with copper finish, evokes the imagery of the craftsman’s ‘forge’, of a house-workshop beaten by a northerly wind.
The Nostalgie 100 cm range cooker with 4 burners and Coup de Feu, jointly with the matching wall-mounted extractor hood, creates a clear counterpoint to the white furniture and the muted, soothing palette: a harbinger of a new trend towards pauperism perhaps, a reaction to crowded, opulent environments.
While from a formal point of view, the choice of the Nostalgie collection addresses the need for a warm and refined ambiance, from a functional point of view, ILVE’s state-of-the-art technologies always ensure a high level of performance. Working by subtraction does not require relinquishment, but allows each individual element to shine, also according to its function: aesthetic reasoning evolves and includes choices that lead to perfectly balance design and technology, history and contemporaneity.
